10-year-old in serious condition after hit-and-run in northeast Houston

HOUSTON –A 10-year-old girl was in serious condition after she was the victim of a hit-and-run late Saturday night in northeast Houston, police said.

According to the Houston Police Department, at about 11:15 p.m. there was a large gathering at an apartment complex near the intersection of Crofton Street and Tidwell Road. At some point, a number of men got into a fight in the parking lot of the complex.

A group that was involved in the scuffle got into a car and peeled out in the parking, police said. The driver was not paying attention to where they were going and hit the 10-year-old girl.

She was taken to Texas Children’s Hospital in serious condition, police said.

The driver never stopped.
