HOUSTON – A man faces an intoxicated assault charge after a two-vehicle accident on the South Loop early Sunday, according to HPD.

Investigators say Jose Eliseo Guevara-Palma was driving a red Mitzubischi Montero heading east on the South Loop feeder road near Jutland around 1:20 a.m. He jumped the curb, went across the main lanes, crashed into a concrete wall and flipped the car.

A green Toyota Previa driving on the Loop crashed into the SUV, police said.

Police said the 46-year-old male driver of the Montero was taken to Ben Taub Hospital with serious injuries.

Guevara-Palma, 27 was also taken to Ben Taub in stable condition, police said. Police say he was drunk.
