HOUSTON – A woman died and her passenger was hospitalized after a violent crash early Sunday in northwest Harris County, deputies said.

According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the victim, Kathy Vo, was heading west an Infiniti G37 at around 2 a.m. in the 12100 block of West Little York Road. As the roadway curved, Vo drove off the north side of the road.

The Infinity ended up is a roadside ditch and struck a utility pole, deputies said. The vehicle continued west across a gravel driveway and entered the roadside ditch a second time.

The vehicle then hit another utility pole and the front end struck a concrete driveway, deputies said.

The Infiniti then flipped end over end over the concrete driveway and landed in the roadside ditch, deputies said. The vehicle came to rest upside down in the ditch.

The ditch was full of water and flooded part of the passenger compartment. A passerby saw the vehicle in the ditch and stopped to render aid.

The passerby broke out the back left window and was able to open the door enough to help the passenger, Harry Nguyen, exit the vehicle.

Vo sustained fatal injuries during the crash and died at the scene, deputies said.

Nguyen was transported to the Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center with minor injuries.
