There was Black Friday, Cyber Monday and finally Giving Tuesday.
Giving Tuesday has grown into a global movement of fund-raising for nonprofits, food drives, blood drives, clothing drives and more that is celebrated the Tuesday after Thanksgiving.
Last year, $117 million was raised for charities in more than 70 countries.
The idea for the Giving Tuesday began in 2012 out of New York City by the 92nd Street Y and the United Nations Foundation.
The purpose of the day was to be a reminder of what the season is truly about: giving.
