36th annual Houston Ballet Nutcracker Market set for Nov. 10-13

The 36th annual Houston Ballet Nutcracker Market returns to NRG Center next month with “The Twelve Days of Christmas” theme.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 10 and Friday, Nov. 11, and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 12 and Sunday, Nov. 13 at NRG Center. It is set to feature more than 280 merchants selling unique gift items, including clothing, toys, candles, jewelry, home décor, gourmet food and more.

This year’s “The Twelve Days of Christmas” theme was selected by Market chairman, Mary Alice Parmet and celebrates the shopping spirit of the holiday season, as well as the camaraderie the Houston Ballet Nutcracker Market creates among shoppers and the Houston community.

Ten percent of all merchandise sales, plus the proceeds from admission and special event tickets, supports the Houston Ballet and its Academy. With the funds raised in 2015, 53,675 Houston-area students benefitted through the Academy’s education and community engagement programs. More than $875,000 was awarded to 344 students to continue studying dance at Houston Ballet Academy, and students from 321 Houston-area schools were able to see ballet and hear from dancers through free programming, performances and classes at Houston Ballet’s Center for Dance.

General admission tickets are on sale now for $18 at all Houston-area Randalls locations and online for $18 (plus a surcharge) through Ticketmaster. Tickets are $20 at NRG Center. Four-day passes are $50 and include early 9 a.m. admission Thursday and Friday.

Half-price admission is also available daily three hours prior to closing. Children under 5 years old are free, and groups of 20 or more will receive $2 off regular admission when purchased in advance.

Special event tickets to the Wells Fargo Preview Party, Saks Fifth Avenue Fashion Show and Luncheon, Macy’s Fashion Show and Holiday Brunch and four-day priority tickets can be purchased by calling (713)-535-3231. Visit the Market’s website for more information on special events.
