GRIMES COUNTY, Texas -- A 19-year-old Texas A&M student from Montgomery County was killed Wednesday morning, and police say texting is to blame.
Chandler Small was killed in a single-car crash that happened around 3:15 a.m. Wednesday.
Troopers said Small had been visiting friends at Sam Houston State in Huntsville was heading back to College Station when the crash occurred.
Officials said Small was speeding and texting on Highway 30 at the Walker-Grimes county line when she lost control and flipped her truck. She died at the scene.
Small was a graduate of Montgomery High School.
Her family and friends gathered in her neighborhood Wednesday evening. She leaves behind a heartbroken family, including a twin brother.
