HOUSTON – Police said it was a close call for a babysitter and a little girl whose sport utility vehicle crashed through the wall of a north Houston garage on Thursday morning.

There were no serious injuries reported in the crash.

It happened around 10:45 a.m. in the 1300 block of Rainy River.

Officers with the Houston Police Department said the babysitter’s Chevrolet Suburban left the roadway and slammed through the garage door of a home. The vehicle then went through a brick wall and into the home’s front yard.

Aerial views from Air 11 showed a lot of damage as a tow truck pulled the SUV away from the brick wall.

The babysitter, 32, told police she blacked out, causing the crash. Both she and the little girl, 3, were treated at the scene for minor injuries.

At least one person, a woman, was home at the time. She wasn’t injured, but police said she had just put a load of clothes in the wash and left the garage to feed her grandsons right before the SUV came crashing in.

HPD said the babysitter was ticketed for not having a valid Texas driver's license.
