HOUSTON – Residents on the north side of Houston experienced flooding and damage from fallen trees on Thursday.

Justin Sanders’ brand new pickup truck was crushed by a tree.

“I just bought it about a week ago,” Sanders said.

He was thankful he only lost a truck and not a life.

“I’m glad it wasn’t my bedroom or something like that,” Sanders said. “it sucks, but it’s life.”

The North Freeway and Tidwell caused problems for scores of drivers. Ruth Lopez’s vehicle was stuck in high water on the frontage road.

“It works. It turns on and everything, but it’s stuck in there,” Lopez said.

The weather has cleared out in the Houston area.
