HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Deputies said one of the two suspects who held up a bank on the North Freeway late Wednesday morning was actually a man wearing women’s clothing.
The robbery was reported at the Compass Bank in the 14200-block of the North Freeway, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said it was initially thought a couple, a man and woman, walked into the bank together and told a teller they were armed before demanding cash. The pair then fled on foot. No shots were fired and no one was injured.
Deputies later determined one of the suspects was a man dressed as a woman.
Officials searched a wooded area and apartment complex behind the bank, but the men were not found.
It wasn’t immediately disclosed how much money they got away with, nor did deputies provide a suspect description.
