HOUSTON—Cell phone images from the fight between the student and the girl who beat her with a combination lock have emerged.
Two sophomore girls at Thurgood Marshall High school, one armed with a sock with a lock in the toe, engaged in a frantic fight until the unarmed girl drops to the floor bleeding from the head. That girl went to the hospital and received staples in her head.
"Everybody standing around and they videoing it," says one parent watching the video.
"Where are the adults? The teachers?" another parent asks.
"There is no supervision there. That is too many kids for no adults to be around," another parent says.
"It looks like a great deal of the student body knew this was going to take place and nobody reported it," says a parent.
The mother of the injured girl Pamela Flowers says she warned the 10th grade assistant principal her daughter had been threatened several hours in advance.
After the fight, that principal told Flowers it slipped his mind.
"I don’t understand how you allow something life threatening to slip your mind," Flowers says.
FBISD issued a statement Tuesday saying the fight is under investigation. They did not mention the principal in the statement.
