HARRIS COUNTY – A couple and their two young sons found dead in Cypress last Thursday were killed by gunshot wounds, according to the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Two of the victims were shot in the head, one was shot in the head and neck and the fourth had gunshot wounds to the head and torso.

The autopsies confirmed all four were victims of homicide, and it was not a murder-suicide.

The bodies were found in a home in the 14000 block of Fosters Creek in northwest Harris County.

Deputies responded to the residence just before 7 p.m. on January 30th for a welfare check. A co-worker of the father, who is an engineer, grew concerned because he hadn't been to work in a couple of days.

The victims names have not been released, but neighbors say the two boys attended Sampson Elementary School. One was in the fourth grader and the other was a second-grader.

"They were very involved with things in the community," one neighbor told KHOU 11 News. "They were always just a nice family to be around. The boys were involved in activities, swimming and sports, so we knew them from that."

"Everyone here knows everyone. We know their kids we know their families. You know we know where they work, what they do for a living. So it’s just you think it happens other places it doesn’t happen to you," Tiffany Bever, another neighbor, said.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office, in a statement Monday, declined to release other details about the deaths or the names of the victims, citing its efforts to "preserve the integrity of the investigation."

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS (8477) or submit a tip at iWatchHarrisCounty.
