HOUSTON -– Unlike the Apple of just a few years ago, it’s now not uncommon for photos of the company’s upcoming products to leak onto the web leading up to their formal unveiling.

Apparently that’s just what happened with the rumored iPhone 5C and iPad 5.

The Japanese website Mac Otakara uploaded two videos to YouTube that possibly show us the new devices in the works. The electronics and screen aren’t present, but each video gives us a good idea of what Apple’s latest offerings will look like.

Its rumored the 5th generation iPad will be a little thinner than the previous, and there will be less bezel (or trim) around the screen. It’s said the display size, like the current iPad’s, will still be 9.7 inches. There are other, more unlikely, rumors that there will also be a 13-inch offering.

Moving on to the rumored iPhone 5C, the “C” doesn’t stand for cheap, but it is expected to cost less than the standard $200 plus two-year contract Apple usually charges for its new iPhones. Instead, the C could stand for color – as there may be a wide variety of colors to choose from. In Mac Otakara’s YouTube video, the device shown is made of white plastic instead of the current iPhone 5’s glass and metal.

A few reports have speculated the new iPhone may be water resistant, similar to recent devices from Samsung and Sony.

As far as functionality goes, it’s highly likely that the new iPad and iPhone will sport better battery life, higher quality displays and cameras, along with faster processors.

Of course there’s no official word from Apple on the devices, but we’ll likely hear something out of California in September or October.
