HOUSTON -- Today's Neighborhood Eats segment features Andes Café located at 2311 Canal Street in east Houston.

Chef David Guerrero is from Ecuador and prepares authentic South American dishes that appeal to people of every nation.

In the six months he has been in operation he has received rave reviews from diners and top food critics alike, like Zagat.

The prices make Andes Cafe a real bargain. On Thursday nights there is a professional couple dancing the Tango. It adds to the cozy, romantic mood of the establishment, that features vibrant art on the walls and music that makes you tap your feet.

Andes Café is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

"It's fantastic!" one diner exclaimed. "I don't know what it is but it's fantastic!"

Word of the excellent fare at Andes Cafe is spreading quickly. Some days reservations may be required.
