Snapchat’s CEO says it’s working with law enforcement after information from millions of users went public on New Year’s Eve, according to Mashable.
Usernames and phone numbers were leaked online and available for download thanks to SnapchatDB.info. The site has been taken down but it managed to post information for 4.6 million users before then.
The hackers say they did it to show users how easily their personal details can be taken and raise awareness.
By Wednesday, developers made a tool for users to see if their information had been hacked.
