Boy injured after jumping from burning apartment in north Houston

A 10-year-old boy was injured after he jumped from a balcony to escape a three-alarm fire in north Houston Sunday evening.

HOUSTON - A 10-year-old boy was injured after he jumped from an apartment balcony to escape a three-alarm fire in north Houston Sunday evening. 

Officials were on the scene at the apartment complex on Plaza Verde drive. 

We're told the boy was taken to the hospital and suffered back injuries. He is expected to be OK. 

No one else was reported injured in the fire. The entire complex suffered damage from the blaze, officials said.

There is no word on what may have caused the fire.
