HOUSTON –The boyfriend of a woman found fatally stabbed at her north Houston apartment early Monday is being questioned by Houston police.

Cecelia Sanders, 27, was found stabbed to death in the 5600 block of Yale near Tidwell shortly after midnight. A frightened 3-year-old was found hiding in a closet, while a 7-month-old baby was near the mother’s dead body.

Sanders’ concerned mother had not heard from her all day Sunday and decided to go check the apartment. When she walked inside, she found her daughter dead and the baby girl --Khyah-- lying in the crib next to her. She also heard her 3-year-old grandchild screaming in the closet.
“When mom walked in the house, Kymora screamed, that’s how she knew Kymora was up in the closet," said Chateral Bishop, the victim’s sister.
Police said the young children may have witnessed their mother’s murder. Kymora sustained some sort of bump on the head, but it was not known if she was harmed by the person who killed her mom. The little girl was taken to the hospital as a precaution, but is expected to be physically OK. Khyah was not harmed.
Police said the victim’s boyfriend, Ronald Deshaun Green, was the last person to see her alive. He was later found at a nearby gas station and taken in for questioning.
“He was seen pacing back and forth in front of the apartment. He went in the apartment and that was the last time he was seen here,” said Sgt. Warren Meeler, HPD Homicide.
Investigators have not named Green as a suspect and family members said they had no clue anything was wrong in the relationship.
“She never made it seem like ‘Oh well, you know my life is in danger,’ but who would say that if they’re afraid,” Bishop said.
Bishop added she will truly miss her big sister.
“She’s my older sister that I looked up to, that I could talk to when I’m going through something so for me to lose a sibling like, really, I can’t explain how it feels.”
“I love you, I love you and I am sorry I wasn’t there,” said Curtis Sanders, the victim’s brother.
Sanders’ mother was overcome with emotion, screaming and crying for her daughter, as the young mother’s body was removed from the home.
Family members said Sanders was just getting her life started. She wanted to pursue a nursing degree and was an extremely devoted mom to her two daughters.
The little girls are expected to be given to their grandparents.
