HOUSTON – July 4, 2012 marks three years since a University of Houston graduate student was murdered and detectives still have no suspects.

Marcus Washington worked for Halliburton and was pursuing a master’s degree.

On Tuesday night Sheriff Adrian Garcia joined family and friends for a vigil outside the apartment where Washington was killed.

“Any information, any tip is valuable. Anything that will lead my investigators to the murderer of Marcus Washington is valuable and needed,” Garcia said.

Washington’s apartment was ransacked, but it’s unclear if anything was taken.

Detectives said they don’t have a motive for the murder.
