HOUSTON -- Passengers in several cities said Thursday morning a massive computer outage briefly stranded United Airlines passengers at airports across the country.
The outage lasted two to three hours. United later tweeted, "Our system is up. We’re resuming operations for affected flights."
The is is at least the third major computer outage for the Chicago-based airline since June.
Passengers were told by pilots and airport agents that the computers were down, passengers told The Associated Press. Some fliers waited more than three hours to depart.
A spokesman for United Continental Holdings Inc. did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
