KATY, Texas – A teenager with no prior criminal record was sentenced Wednesday to 45 years in prison for raping a woman in the Katy area a few years ago.

But the attorney for Schyler Hill says the sentence is not fair, and that he’s seen serial killers offered better plea deals.

"15-year-old, no prior criminal history, no juvenile history, no adult history, and then he ends up in adult court," defense attorney Eric Davis said.

Hill was convicted of aggravated sexual assault. He used scissors as the weapon.

Prosecutors said, given the brutality of the assault, that the punishment fits the crime.

The victim, who spoke with KHOU 11 News Wednesday, was also pleased.

"Forty-five is a beautiful number as far as I’m concerned – I’m ecstatic. This puts an end to a very long two years that we have been waiting for this day," the victim said.
