HOUSTON—HISD’s Scroggins Elementary was on a modified lockdown Thursday afternoon.

The move was made because of police activity near the school, which is located on Boyles Street in northeast Houston.

Officials said the lockdown went into effect around 12:30 p.m.

Police were reportedly looking for one or more armed suspects in the 7000 block of Corpus Christi, which is a few blocks away from Scroggins.
