HOUSTON—A voluntary recall has been issued for 91,872 pounds of fully cooked, frozen chicken nuggets sold under the Great Value brand at Walmart stores across the U.S.

The recall was issued because of the potential that a small number of nuggets could contain pieces of plastic.

The recall involves only Great Value brand fully cooked chicken nuggets with a "best if used by date" of June 9, 2011, and the numbers 89008A and 0160 printed on the back of the package.

The affected packages will also bear establishment number P-33944.

There have been no reports of injury related to the nuggets, but Perdue Farms decided to recall the products out of an abundance of caution, company officials said.

Consumers can return the products to the retailer for a full refund.
