HOUSTON – A Houston man is facing charges after police say he impersonated his ex-girlfriend on Facebook and signed her up on a prisoner pen-pal website.

Charges of online impersonation were filed against 30-year-old Carl Wayne McGraw Jr. on June 16, 2012.

According to court documents, McGraw and his girlfriend of about five months broke up in March of 2012.

After the breakup, the victim said she started getting unwanted letters from inmates at several prisons in Texas and other states at her place of work.

She said around the same time, another ex-girlfriend of McGraw’s contacted her, telling the victim that her information was being made available on a Facebook profile. The other ex-girlfriend said she was suspicious about the profile, because after she and McGraw had broken up, something similar had happened to her, according to court documents.

Investigators believe McGraw set up the Facebook account using the victim’s information, and also signed her up at a prisoner pen-pal website called cellpalls.com.
