A border patrol agent is accused of beating and tying up his wife, then murdering the man with whom police say she was having an online relationship.

Police said Adam Garibay, 33, tied up and beat his wife after discovering a Facebook conversation she was having with a man in Hondo.

Police said after assaulting his wife, Garibay drove to Hondo and shot and killed the man who had chatted with his wife online.

At the same time, the woman was able to get free and call police.

Medina County deputies found Garibay in Hondo. That's when they said Garibay led officers on an 18-mile chase into Uvalde County.

Officers were able to force his car off the road, and it crashed.

Garibay was in a Hondo hospital recovering Friday morning. His wife is expected to be OK.
