Thank God Snopes was on the plane and ferrited out all the info themselves, leaving out the eye witnesses competely. I'm so happy we have a lobama schill that will always bring the truth out. I know this has to be true as of Dec 25th look what happened at Detroit Metro airport with the bombing attempt... They wanted a dry run is right and every one of them buggers needed a huge beating in my eyes!!! They knew what they were doing indeed.... Wankers every one of the useless pigs... On bended knee I salute the 2 brave men that we out of 70 others whom did nothing!!!! Bloody HEROES those men are (not were) and the ones on the Detroit flight also whom put out the fire while the plane was in Flight to protect and serve.... They need medals I say!!!! Brown runs a security consultant company and is a frequent flier. But even for him, he said the events of Flight 297 were disturbing and frightening. As the Houston-bound flight taxied to the runway, several in a group of about a dozen men of Middle Eastern descent started walking the aisles and using their cell phones, Brown said.

There was (Some) Truth to this story, However Snopes.com has a different slant on this story. So to be honest. One should not Pre-Judge anyone until you read Snoops. http://www.snopes.com/politics/religion/flight297.asp With that being said, There was a Writers Embellishment to the story. Seems it was a Movie Camera not a Phone. But it was an Electronic device and they have to be OFF in Taxi and some things while in Flight. Cell Phones have been proven to hardly work at all above 3,000 feet because of the angle of radiation pattern of the cell towers antennas. Cell Phones rarely work regardless of whom your carrier is anyway. (Buy a Ham Radio) after you get the License that is. Since it has been proven that Cell Phones hardly work at all above 3,000 feet it makes me wonder if Flight 93 on 9/11 had anyone actually making calls to their loved ones at all. Had anyone Survived, I am more then sure the F.C.C. along with American Air Lines would Sued any that did. Martial Law is Coming!

Here’s Todd Petruna’s report: Two weeks ago, I went to Ohio on business and to see my father. On Tuesday, November 17, I returned home. If you read the papers, you may have seen a blurb where an AirTran flight was cancelled from Atlanta to Houston due to a man who refused to get off of his cell phone before takeoff. It was on Fox News. That was NOT what happened! I was in first class coming home. Eleven Muslim men got on the plane in full attire. Two sat in first class and the rest peppered themselves throughout the plane all the way to the back. As the plane taxied to the runway, the stewardesses gave the safety spiel we are all so familiar with. At that time, one of the men got on his cell and called one of his companions in the back and proceeded to talk on the phone in Arabic very loudly and very aggressively. This took the first stewardess out of the picture for she repeatedly told the man that cell phones were not permitted at the time. He ignored her as if she wasn't there.

I finally flew this plane. After checking the flaps and whatever else those things are called. I pulled the wheel chocks and climbed back in. I said..."on Dancer....On dasher"....and all those other reindeer names.....then we flew to Houston(non-stop) Ya'll can thank me later for a safe flight!!

This is ridiculous. I am a Texan and a devout Christian, and I believe that all of this judging and fear mongering is ludicrous. My best friend in High School was a Muslim, and I had the opportunity to get to know this person's extended family and culture. The vast majority of Muslims are peace-loving nice people who do not believe for one second that killing people solves anything nor that it promotes God's will. I understand there is a certain sensitivity about the culture since 911, but a communication problem should NOT be embellished into something that it was not. Fear mongering and gross misstatements about cultural heritage is exactly what the Jihadists (radical FRINGE groups) are doing to Americans. We are not any better than they if we choose to do the same thing to promote our own agenda. Fear is the number one thing people, governments, and even corporations use against the masses to get us to move the way they need us to. Shame on those who continue this practice!

Mr. Petruna has acknowledge embellishing his story in what he thought was a private email to friends. He never expected it to become circulated on the internet and now won't talk to the media. AirTrans has issued a point-by-point rebuttal, including the fact that flight manifests show he couldn't have been aboard the plane the first time it departed from the gate. It's worth noting that Houston is a global hub of the petroleum industry, and foreign nationals from oil producing nations are there year round. Conglomerates like Chevron seek to cultivate good relations with those countries. The Bush family famously maintains close business and social ties with the Saudi royal family, for instance. Also, those countries have a vested interest in America's continuing stability and economic viability as a safe haven for investing their vast accummulated wealth of petrodollars. Some incident clearly occurred, but I suspect a misunderstanding.

According to all available records, Mr. Petruna’s trip originated from Akron-Canton, Ohio (CAK) on AirTran flight 205. This flight arrived at the gate in Atlanta at 5:06 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Flight 297, the flight which Mr. Petruna allegedly wrote a first-hand account of, originally pushed back from its gate in Atlanta at 4:40 p.m. EST, a full 26 minutes before flight 205 arrived at the gate in Atlanta making this flight connection impossible. While Mr. Petruna was originally scheduled to begin his journey on AirTran flight 202 from CAK and connect to flight 297 in Atlanta he did not make that original flight.

This whole Petruna story makes me really scared. Not in the way many of you think, though. It makes me scared of the significant ignorance in our country. I may be wrong, but my guess is the majority of the folks who speak so righteously about other cultures likely have never even left their state - let along traveled to any of the lands they present commentary about. We've been given so much. Yet so many have decided that this entitles them to just sit and judge - not build on the effort and kind spirit of those before us. This small mindedness will lead us to ruin far quicker than anything anyone anywhere in the world would be able to accomplish.

Have you considered that it was a test to see how the flight attendents, pilots, and passengers would handle this situation? These people would not have been allowed back on that flight for disrupting the flight..We have seen many removed for being drunk, loud, and abusive.. So 'no' I don't believe the airline would have allowed it..I believe all were being tested and you, fellow passengers, pilots, and flight attendents passed with flying colors. I believe whatever happened should have been explained to those aboard the plane. I don't for one minute believe suspected terrorists would have been allowed to resume the flight.

Based on an article I read in the Atlanta Journal Constitution (http://www.ajc.com/business/airtran-hero-wasn-t-226517.html), Mr. Petruna wasn't even on the flight in question. If this is actually the case, I am offended by his fictitious and culturally insensitive narrative. While I can appreciate rational attempts to promote increased awareness by the general public, I do not agree with doing so by telling stories that are intentionally inflammatory and only serve to widen the sensitivity gap between two very different cultures. Mr. Petruna may think he's helping protect "our" safety, but actions like this only serve to make us less safe by promoting fear and hate which help to direct increased cultural energy and support for those truly bad elements in Muslim societies who wish to do harm to us. So in my mind, this kind of thing only increases the dangers we face.

well..this is an interesting story..i think it is a bit embellished, although i cant say because i wasnt there..i am a retired airline agent and i can tell you for a fact that tsa does not have the authority to put passengers back on the plane..if the crew or other passengers complain about a "situation" or problem, tsa and the airport police and the gate supervisors of the airline come to the aircraft, escort the passengers off the plane, and then get their luggage from the cargo hold with as minimal delay as possible..after this is done, the flight and the remaining passengers and crew then depart the gate..if the passengers are deemed to be ok and not a threat, they are put on another flight along with their luggage..crews cannot walk off a plane with passengers onboard by faa rules, so i dont think the "blogger" here is telling the whole truth, but rather writing a novel of his/her own!

Me thinks that YEHUDI, who said he was on the flight (in the comment section) is full of Texas bull manure. Yehudi said the first crew got off with their luggage, then the aircraft's door was closed. Five minutes later, he said the plane's door was opened and a NEW crew got on. It is obvious that this YEHUDI doesn't know FEDERAL AIR REGULATIONS. Even if the first crew refused to fly the plane, an airline would never leave passengers unattended on a plane with the DOOR CLOSED! Every crew member would have been given a four figure fine from the FAA for doing that, and the airline would have received a larger fine. The 2nd captain wouldn't have agreed to fly that plane either, knowing no crew was on board when he arrived. END OF STORY! The problem with the Internet is that anyone can say anything under any name and some people believe it. There might not have been a bomb on that plane but by their actions seems to me that they are trying to make this a normal occurrence so when they are on the phone people will not think about what happen then one day there will be a bomb. By the actions of these 11 men show that they are instigating a problem. It was like they had an emergency and had to be on the phone. Thank you for being so brave. It would sure be interesting to know how many other flights have 11 men on board doing the same thing.I still can't figure out how we put a man in the White House that can't even prove that he is a citizen and/or born in the United States. I can't figure out how he didn't have to show this when he ran for the Senate but regardless of that if we the people do not stand up as you have there is going to be another 911. I am responding to the comments left by yehudi. I wanted to say Thank you very much for standing up and to the Texan that "had your back"! Even at your own expense of money and time. Getting off that plane showed that YOU had "the back" of the crew members also! Everyone of those people should have left that plane and refuse to fly that airline and I would imagine that would change the whole attitude regardless of who is backing up those muslims. We know that money is the name of the game and if no one is buying tickets from that airline I wonder just how fast it would take them to change their mind about allowing this to happen. If we only had the opposite of what is going on by that I mean if everyone stood their ground like you and the Texan and only a couple that didn't we wouldn't be in the trouble we are but I guess they all have forgotten 911. All the other passengers were willing to chance losing their lives because either of inconvenience, money, time whatever the reason.

After I read this the hair stood up and the back of my neck and it really ticked me off. I'm surprised the the author of the posting wasn't thrown in jail for some trumped up charges of some kind. I have no faith in the TSA whatsoever. The worst city to deal with them is Houston. They're arrogant, condescending, and just plain rude. I'm supposed to know, by the movements of their head and the grunting sounds they emit, that I'm supposed to take a belt off prior to going through the detector. And if you don't do what they 'like' they make you stand in a 'time out' box then let you go. Very unprofessional. Chicago O'Hare isn't much better. My wife and I where there over Thanksgiving and I noticed two TSA employees, who should've been watching people, going through some sort of b.s. mating ritual instead. I watched them closer than they were watching the people they were hired to watch. I applaud the author of the story for telling us about it all.

I have been all over the net trying to find any evidence that this is not true. I can fine none. Snopes will only give it a partial verification, which tells me that it is much more than likely TRUE as they are very quick with disclaimers for untrue stories. PEOPLE, WAKE UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If even a third of this story is true, we all need to be very afraid and we ALL need to bombard our local, state, and federal governments for a full disclosure and report on this. Did you see how easily those supposed wannabe's got into the White House?! Was that another dry run? I know, I know, there are those of you out there who are thinking "Another crazy conspiracy theorist". Maybe so, but what if I am right?! It is time Americans started standing up for what they believe in and not be passive because they might offend someone. So what, this might have saved numerous lives in the future. Even if this was a real deal fixing to happen and there was an Air Marshall on the flight, he couldn't handle 11. Again…..this is where I had had enough!!! I got up and asked “What the hell is going on!?!?” I was told to take my seat. They were sorry for the delay and I would be home shortly. I said “I’m getting off this plane”. The stewardess sternly told me that she could not allow me to get off. (now I’m mad!) I said “I am a grown man who bought this ticket, who’s time is mine with a family at home and I am going through that door, or I’m going through that door with you under my arm!! But I am going through that door!!” And I heard a voice behind me say “so am I”. Then everyone behind us started to get up and say the same. Within 2 minutes, I was walking off that plane where I was met with more agents who asked me to write a statement. I had 5 hours to kill at this point so why the hell not. Due to the amount of people who got off that flight, it was cancelled. I was supposed to be in Houston at 6pm. I got here at 12:30am.

Stone faced, eyes front and robotic (the only way I can describe it). The stewardess from the back had been in tears and when she saw this, she was having NONE of it! Being that I was up front, I heard and saw the whole ordeal. She told the TSA agent there was NO WAY she was staying on the plane with these men. The agent told her they had searched them and were going to go through their luggage with a fine tooth comb and that they were allowed to proceed to Houston. The captain and co-captain came out and told the agent “we and our crew will not fly this plane!” After a word or two, the entire crew, luggage in tow, left the plane. 5 minutes later, the cabin door opened again and a whole new crew walked on.

To which one of the men said “shut up infidel dog!” She went to take the camcorder and he began to scream in her face in Arabic. At that exact moment, all 11 of them got up and started to walk the cabin. This is where I had had enough! I got up and started to the back where I heard a voice behind me from another Texan twice my size say “I got your back.” I grabbed the man who had been on the phone by the arm and said “you WILL go sit down or you Will be thrown from this plane!” As I “led” him around me to take his seat, the fellow Texan grabbed him by the back of his neck and his waist and headed out with him. I then grabbed the 2nd man and said, “You WILL do the same!” He protested but adrenaline was flowing now and he was going to go. As I escorted him forward the plane doors open and 3 TSA agents and 4 police officers entered. Me and my new Texan friend were told to cease and desist for they had this under control. I was happy to oblige actually.

permitted at the time. He ignored her as if she was not there. The 2nd man who answered the phone did the same and this took out the 2nd stewardess. In the back of the plane at this time, 2 younger Muslims, one in the back, isle, and one in front of him, window, began to show footage of a porno they had taped the night before, and were very loud about it. Now….they are only permitted to do this prior to Jihad. If a Muslim man goes into a strip club, he has to view the woman via mirror with his back to her. (don’t ask me….I don’t make the rules, but I’ve studied) The 3rd stewardess informed them that they were not to have electronic devices on at this time.

This was MUCH more than a man with a cell phone! See this story of the TRUTH! One week ago, I went to Ohio on business and to see my father. On Tuesday, November the 17th, I returned home. If you read the papers the 18th you may have seen a blurb where a AirTran flight was cancelled from Atlanta to Houston due to a man who refused to get off of his cell phone before takeoff. It was on Fox. This was NOT what happened. I was in 1st class coming home. 11 Muslim men got on the plane in full attire. 2 sat in 1st class and the rest peppered themselves throughout the plane all the way to the back. As the plane taxied to the runway the stewardesses gave the safety spiel we are all so familiar with. At that time, one of the men got on his cell and called one of his companions in the back and proceeded to talk on the phone in Arabic very loudly and very aggressively. This took the 1st stewardess out of the picture for she repeatedly told the man that cell phones were not permit
