HOUSTON—The first freeze this fall may occur north of Houston.
A freeze warning is in effect for Grimes, Montgomery, Polk, San Jacinto, Trinity, Walker and Washington counties.
By 3 to 5 a.m. temperatures in these locations may fall below 32 degrees and won’t get above freezing until 8 a.m.
Tender vegetation is most at risk; bring those plants in for the evening. Small pets that are not used to the cold should also spend the night in an enclosed, covered location.
