HOUSTON – Undercover narcotics agents shut down a pain-management clinic in north Houston Wednesday morning.

HPD detectives said the clinic was operating without approval from the Texas Medical Board.

A new law went into effect last year that requires pain clinics to be certified by the board and owned and operated by a local doctor.

Police say illegal clinics can easily take in $4,000-5,000 a day.
