MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas – A man was behind bars Monday after a body was found on the side of Redbud Road near the Magnolia Bend subdivision, investigators said.

A woman spotted the body and called 911 around 9:15 a.m., and deputies arrived and determined the victim had been shot in the head.

Earlier Monday morning, deputies and Conroe police had been investigating claims from another woman, who said her husband might have killed her ex-boyfriend.

While interviewing the husband – later identified as 49-year-old Perry Taylor – at his home on Moorehead Road, deputies noticed evidence inside a pickup truck on the property,

As the deputies were investigating that evidence, they got the call about the body on Redbud Road.

Investigators detained Perry while they continued their investigation at the two scenes.

Hours later, they identified the victim as Russell Bointnott, 51, the ex-boyfriend of Taylor’s wife.

Taylor has since been charged with murder.
