CLEVELAND, Texas—A Cleveland man was on his way to pick up his wife early Saturday morning when he discovered her body on the side of the road.
The incident happened around 1 a.m. near Highway 105 and FM 1725.
Police said 26-year-old Katie Moore was walking along Highway 105 waiting for her husband when she became the victim of a hit-and-run accident.
Moore’s husband was looking for her around 1 a.m. when he saw some of her items on the side of the road. Shortly after that, he found Moore in a ditch. Authorities said they found nearly 100 pieces of evidence at the scene, including headlights and the victim’s shoes.
Authorities were still searching for the driver and the vehicle, which police said was a Dodge Truck.
