DALLAS -- WFAA is hearing more from lawyers of the man fighting to have his pregnant wife, Marlise Muñoz, removed from life support at a Fort Worth hospital.
Erick Muñoz is suing JPS Hospital, where doctors are refusing to turn off the machines attached to his wife because of their interpretation of a state law that protects her unborn child.
Lawyers for Muñoz tell News 8 they are working tirelessly on the case, and they want people to understand that Marlise Muñoz is not in a chronic vegetative state, nor is she in a coma — they say she is dead.
Her body is 21 weeks' pregnant. At the 24-week mark, doctors plan tests to see if the fetus is viable.
