HARRIS COUNTY, Texas—A former Galena Park police officer who felt she was forced to resign over leaked semi-nude photos faces a lawsuit by her former police chief.

Corrie Long’s attorney, David Tang, said she was in a romantic relationship with another police officer for Galena Park.  The two were told by Chief Robert Pruett that their relationship was against his departmental policy. Both were suspended. Long returned to the job, and her former boyfriend resigned.

Tang said the ex-boyfriend attempted to reunite with Long, but when she refused his advances, he sent the semi-nude pictures to Pruett.

According to Pruett’s attorney, the chief and a sergeant met with Long to discuss the photos. Long said she was shown the photos she'd sent privately to her then-boyfriend.

“Corrie was forced to resign, and threatened that these pictures would become public if she didn’t resign from the police force,” he said.

Pruett’s attorney, Paul Houston Lavalle told a different story of what happened in that meeting.

“Those photographs were not in the room. The chief and the sergeant did not ask the question or pressure her like she claims. She resigned of her own free will,” he said.

Long filed a gender discrimination complaint with the EEOC against Pruett.

Tuesday morning, Pruett and several other officers filed a defamation of character lawsuit against Long and her attorneys.
