This week we watched some heavy rain move in along and off the gulf coast, fortunately we did not see any flooding. Houstonians are all too familiar with rising water and we are reminded of the devastation left behind by Ike. With the last day of the hurricane season around the corner and the holiday season fast approaching. The Houston Weather Museum thinks this is a great time to clean out your hurricane supply kit and donate any nonparishable food items to The Blessed Basket of Galveston County in San Leon. In return they will give you free admission from November 21 - 30. This may be a great way to break up the NFL experience here on CBS and walk off a few of those Thanksgiving Day calories. The San Leon area was impacted by high winds and storm surge flooding. Who could forget the sight of fishing boats on the streets of San Leon and homes blown off their pilings. Please help out the food shelter and don't forget to restock for next years hurricane season. See you at the Houston Weather Museum !
The Weather Museum is located at 5104 Caroline Street, Houston, Texas
Open Monday - Saturday 10am - 4pm.
The museum will be closed for Thanksgiving Day.
Admission is normally $5.00 Adults , $3 students and seniors, children under 3 years free
Free Admission November 21 - 30 with nonparisable food item.
