HOUSTON -- Picking up baggage at Houston’s William P. Hobby Airport should now be easier.
Airport officials on Monday announced completion of a new baggage claim operation with a more open concept. Aviation director Mario Diaz says customers should notice improvements in the high-traffic area.
The upgrades, which are part of $350 million in renovations at the city-owned airport, include longer baggage conveyors, improved lighting and larger restrooms.
Construction began two years ago and passengers since then had to use a temporary baggage area.
Nearly 10 million passengers traveled through Hobby Airport last year.
