HOUSTON—Investigators are seeking the public’s help identifying a suspect in at least two southwest Houston rapes.

Police said the suspect is between 30 and 40 years old, weighs 200-250 pounds and has a large-athletic build.

He has a dark complexion and short, black hair.

In both assaults, police said he targeted older women who were home alone.

Investigators said the first assault occurred around 2:30 p.m. in the 7200 block of Tanager on Nov. 23.

The victim, an 80-year-old widow, told police she walked into her garage and was confronted by the suspect, who was wearing a white button-down shirt with the word "Randalls" embroidered on it. Police said there was no indication that the suspect actually worked at Randalls.

The victim told investigators the suspect forced her into her house and sexually assaulted her for 20 minutes.  He then grabbed some cash and jewelry and took off in her car.

The car was found abandoned at a shopping center in the 5900 block of Hillcroft.  The suspect was caught on surveillance cameras driving up in the car, parking it and walking off, police said.

Police said the second incident occurred on Dec. 21 in the 5800 block of Sugar Hill around 9:30 p.m.

The victim, a 64-year-old woman, said the suspect entered her home by prying open a lock.

He confronted her in her bedroom, where he robbed and sexually assaulted her.

The victim, who is married, said her husband was out of town at the time of the assault.

Police said the suspect likes to use the phrase "don’t be fibbing me," and enjoys listening to gospel music.  They described him as extremely sadistic and cruel.

Investigators are asking anyone who knows the identity of the suspect or has any information on either incident to call the HPD Special Crimes Division at 713-308-1180 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
