HCSO to use ankle monitors to reduce jail overcrowding

HOUSTON – The Harris County Sheriff’s Office gained approval to start using ankle monitors for some low-risk inmates.

That means they will be able to serve their time at home.

It's a three-month pilot program that the HCSO said will reduce overcrowding at the jail.
