SAN ANTONIO -- Garden Ridge police confirmed at 3:45 Thursday a body found in Garden Ridge, Texas, was that of Leanne Bearden, the woman missing over three weeks. Private investigator Charlie Parker had 'no comment' about the find. The body was located just a few blocks from Bearden's in-laws home, where she was last seen before going for a run, according to family members. The discovery came on the heels of a $20,000 reward offered by Bearden's family on Wednesday. Police went on numerous searches for Bearden and the private investigator had said there was a strong possibility she had left on her own, according to previous reports. The private investigator had been to Laredo and Austin after reports of sightings of Bearden. Bearden and her husband, Josh, had just spent the last two years traveling around the world. Her family has said they thought 'pressure of transitioning' back into normal life left Bearden stressed, according to previous reports. Early on, Josh Bearden, Leanne's husband said: "Again, at this time there is no evidence that points to any crime being committed, but the lack of any real credible information and lack of contact by Leanne to any of us has us extremely worried and we just want to know that Leanne is OK."

SAN ANTONIO -- Preliminary autopsy results show that Leanne Bearden died from asphyxiation by hanging, Garden Ridge police said Friday.

The manner of death has been ruled a suicide, pending toxicology results.

Police said the investigation has concluded that Bearden's death occurred shortly after she was last seen leaving her residence for a walk.

The police department has asked that the community and the family have "time to process and reflect on the tragedy," according to a news release.

Bearden's body was found in Garden Ridge on Thursday afternoon after she had been missing for more than three weeks.

Investigators said a man discovered the body early Thursday afternoon in a wooded area behind his home. Sources tell Eyewitness News that Bearden was found hanging in a tree.

Police were able to confirm it was Bearden by her backpack and ID.

The body was found in the 21600 block of Fairview Circle,  just a few blocks from Bearden's in-laws' home, where she was last seen before going for a run, family members said.
