FRIENDSWOOD, Texas—Two men were charged with evading arrest after Friendswood police say they ran from officers twice in a 20-minute time span Monday morning.

Donald Norman, 25, and Tony Hall, 17, were in a red pickup truck around 2:50 a.m. when an officer tried to pull them over for a traffic violation in the 2700 block of FM 528, police said.

As the officer exited his car, the pickup truck driver made a U-turn and sped off, leading police on a chase through a nearby subdivision.

Police said both suspects bailed out of the truck, ran into a backyard and eluded officers.

Then, around 3:10 a.m., another officer started chasing a blue Honda Civic nearby.

That car crashed in the 16300 block of Tibet, and both men – later identified as Norman and Hall – were arrested.

Police said the pickup was registered to a friend of Hall’s and the Honda was registered to Norman’s wife.

Investigators said Norman told them he ran because he had marijuana on him.
