HOUSTON—The transgendered widow of a Wharton County firefighter has been sentenced to 50 days in jail after pleading guilty to theft charges.

Prosecutors said Nikki Araguz stole a woman’s Rolex inside Eddie V’s in the upper Kirby area on Feb. 24.

Araguz made headlines after she started a legal battle for the death benefits of her late husband, who was a firefighter.

She’s still appealing a judge’s decision to void the marriage.
