BEASLEY, Texas – An El Campo man was behind bars Thursday, accused of attacking and stabbing his ex-girlfriend in Beasley.
Fort Bend County deputies were called to the victim’s home in the 300 block of North 9th Street around 1:45 p.m. Wednesday.
They found the victim and a witness inside. The victim had been beaten and stabbed multiple times, including a slash to her neck.
She told deputies that her ex-boyfriend, 49-year-old Kenneth McClain, attacked her.
She said she believed he would be headed back to El Campo on U.S. 59, so deputies alerted Wharton County law enforcement.
A Wharton County officer stopped McClain on 59 at County Road 458. Fort Bend deputies responded to the scene and arrested him.
The victim was taken to OakBend Medical Center in Richmond.
McClain was charged with aggravated assault and taken to the Fort Bend County Jail.
