AUSTIN, Texas -- An alleged gang member with a violent criminal past was taken into custody in Amarillo, the Texas Department of Public Safety announced Thursday.
Rojelio “Roger” Reyes, 32, was a Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitive prior to his arrest Wednesday. DPS said Reyes is a known Tango Blast gang member and was wanted for parole violation.
A Crime Stoppers tip led investigators and sheriff’s deputies to a home in Amarillo where Reyes was located. He was taken into custody without incident.
DPS said the person who called in the tip would be rewarded up to $10,000.
Reyes’ arrest marks the first Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitive arrest in 2014. In 2013, DPS and other agencies arrested an all-time record of 32 Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitives and Sex Offenders.
