SAN ANTONIO -- Police were busy in separate investigations as a result of a violent night of shootings.
The first shooting happened on Moursund Blvd and Loop 410 on the city's south side just before 3:00 a.m.Thursday.
Investigators said a man, believed to be in his 40's, had an argument with a woman at residence in the 800 block of Clovis. Shots were fired and he left the scene. Patrol officers spotted the man's van a few blocks away and and tried to stop him but he refused, according to SAPD spokesman Roger Zuniga.
Investigators said officers followed the suspect until he stopped on Moursund Blvd near Loop 410 and that's when he shot a patrol car as police attempted take him into custody.
He then turned the gun on himself and fire once killing him, according to police. No officers were injured nor did any fire a weapon, according to Ofc. Zuniga.
The woman the man was arguing with was taken in for questioning. Moursand Blvd. was blocked off for several hours while police collected evidence. The case remains under investigation.
A few minutes before that incident, police responded to a shooting in the 7000 block of W. Military Drive at Bar Boozery.
According to police on scene, a bar employee and patron argued over a tab before the patron pulled a gun out. Police said the employee also had a gun and shot and killed the patron.
That case is still under investigation. It's not clear if the employee will be charged.
Police responded to another shooting around 3:00a.m. in the 79000 block of Pipers Creek.
Investigators said two brothers were arguing and started shooting at each other. One brother was shot in the ankle. He was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police said the man did not want to press charges against his brother. His brother was released from custody.
