HOUSTON – Officials at Bush Intercontinental Airport announced Wednesday plans to step up security after a KHOU 11 News report revealed issues related to a recent shooting there.

KHOU 11 News reported that an unattended truck sat parked in front of Terminal B for more than an hour before it was towed. While the vehicle sat unattended, its owner was inside the terminal with an assault rifle and handgun.

The gunman fired a couple of rounds inside the airport and then was shot by law enforcement. The troubled man died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

However, his truck was not towed from the passenger drop-off lanes until after the shooting.

Reporter Jeremy Desel has more on this development.
