HOUSTON— Bundle up and brace yourselves: a frigid arctic blast is about to blow into the Greater Houston area.
11 News Meteorologist Gene Norman says a north wind will kick in around 1 a.m. Thursday, ushering bitter cold into the Houston area by 6 or 7 a.m.
There will be a slight chance for rain that could turn to sleet between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Thursday.
"I’m not expecting big problems with this, but it’s a good idea that TxDOT and other local municipalities are putting those chemicals out on the roadways," 11 News Meteorologist David Paul said.
After Thursday, we’ll have sunny skies and lows in the low-20s through the weekend.
