TULSA, Oklahoma – There was an emotional end to an Oklahoma custody case that has made headlines for years.
Dusten Brown, the biological father of baby Veronica, said he's dropping his lawsuit to give his daughter a normal life.
Veronica's mother arranged for her to be adopted by a South Carolina couple four years ago.
Brown fought for -- and won custody -- when the girl was two, but the Supreme Court recently reversed the decision, saying Brown had been absent from the girl's life.
Brown said his decision is one no parent should never have to make, but that Veronica's happiness is his top priority.
“You will always be my little girl, my princess, and I will always love you until the day I die,” Brown said.
Brown said he hopes the adoptive parents will allow him and his family to be a part of Veronica's life.
