6200 Majestic Hill Ct., Houston, TX 77345
HOUSTON – Houston Fire Department investigators believe someone is setting homes on fire in Kingwood.
The latest arson case happened late Wednesday at a home under construction in the 6200 of Majestic Hill Court.
"Very unheard of, very scary," said Danielle Albro, a Kingwood resident. "You really wouldn’t expect to something like that to happen here."
Firefighters found heavy flames coming from the roof of the large two-story home when they arrived on the scene.
They managed to knock the blaze out before it consumed the whole structure.
Fire department officials have confirmed that at least four homes under construction have burned since March. All of the fires happened around 10 p.m.
Investigators are not sure if the arson cases are connected.
"This is my second one on my particular shift," said Houston Fire Department District Chief Doug Sherber. "[The fires happened] within about a month and they’re under investigation."
Kingwood is no stranger to arson. In 2006, investigators Kingwood resident Matthew White confessed to setting as many as a dozen homes on fire, causing millions of dollars worth of damage.
No one has been injured in the recent rash of fires, but in Kingwood, people are scared and on the lookout.
“Now that we know it’s a pattern, like last time, we’re going to have to keep our eyes and ears open," said Albro.
