NEW ORLEANS - NOPD sex crimes detectives and investigators with the Orleans Parish District Attorney’s Office have obtained an arrest warrant for former Saints player Darren Sharper and an acquaintance of his, 26-year-old Erik Nunez, for the alleged aggravated rapes of two women in September 2013.
According to an NOPD spokesperson, two women were allegedly sexually assaulted by Sharper and Nunez at the same location.
The office says the investigation continues and additional arrests are possible.
Former Saints safety Darren Sharper recently entered a plea of not guilty and his bail was raised to $1 million in connection with an indictment that accuses him of raping two women and drugging those victims and others in two separate incidents late in 2013 and in early 2014 in Los Angeles.
There are also ongoing investigations of alleged sexual assaults by Sharper in Miami, Nevada and Arizona. None of those have resulted in arrest warrants or indictments to this point.
After the recent Los Angeles hearing, Sharper was also ordered not to frequent clubs, bars or "any venue where alcohol is the primary item for sale." His passport has been surrendered, according to the judge.
