FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas—Three suspects were behind bars Wednesday after a brazen midday break-in and brief police chase. The Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office said around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, an area resident spotted two of the suspects running from a home in the 11300 block of Old Needville Fairchild Road with a number of items in their hands. The witness told deputies the suspects jumped into a silver 4-door car driven by a third suspect and took off, so the witness called 911. A deputy happened to be in the area of FM 2218 and State Highway 36 when he spotted a vehicle matching the description of the suspects’ getaway car. The deputy said the vehicle fled when he tried to pull it over, but it ended up driving down Long Leaf Drive, a dead-end road. The deputy said he pulled his cruiser over to the side of the roadway just as the suspects were turning their vehicle around. The deputy said the suspects accelerated and smashed into his cruiser. Officials said two of the suspects – later identified as 35-year-old Celestine Rosales and 22-year-old Jose Cadena—bailed out of the car and ran into a nearby field. They were located shortly after and taken into custody. The third suspect, later identified as 42-year-old Jackie Wayne Newsome, was arrested immediately after he exited the vehicle. Newsome is being held in the Fort Bend County Jail with no bail on burglary charges. Rosales and Cadena are also at the jail with no bail, facing charges of aggravated assault of a public servant, evading with a vehicle and burglary of a habitation.
