Seattle-area photographer Shauna Kruse regularly volunteers her time and talents to help create lasting memories for military families on the verge of deployment, as well as capture emotional homecomings. Shauna, who owns Kruse Images and Photography, offers wide range of services, including and family portraits, sports shots and intimate "boudoir" sessions for singles and couples and is comfortable working indoors and outdoors.
Today, she joined guest host Kim Holcomb to talk about her latest fundraising project, a calendar featuring buff servicemen, veterans and other patriotic men. Shauna shared the inspiration for the calendar (another one featuring patriotic women is on the drawing board), of which 100% of sales will benefit a non-profit organization called Honor the Sacrifice. Honor the Sacrifice works to support active-duty servicemembers and their families, as well as veterans and their families in a number of ways, including most recently, helping to provide service and therapy dogs for those suffering from PTSD as a result of deployment or other military-related stress.
Four of the "models" featured in the calendar posed good-naturedly for the audience: Kevin Moss, Antonio Clyburn, Chris Denina and Przemek Preis (click on each model's name to be directed to his Facebook page).
Grunt Style, an apparel company created by military veterans, designed the t-shirts worn by Shauna and the models. Please click here to check out the styles and place any orders. (ALL net proceeds benefit Honor the Sacrifice)
