GASTONIA, N.C. -- Gastonia police said a man killed his wheelchair-bound roommate in a gruesome manner on Tuesday.
Police said 33-year-old Brian Hord killed 68-year-old Richard Lee Gentry and then dismembered Gentry's body with a hacksaw in an attempt to hide the murder.
Police said the murder happened at a house on Little Avenue Tuesday night.
Gentry was confined to a wheelchair and had only one leg, police said. Police said they received a call about the incident around 10:30 p.m.
Hord has been charged with murder, according to police. He is being held at the Gaston County Jail under a $10,000 bond.
Police have not released a motive in the murder.
