PEARLAND, Texas – Two off-duty HPD officers and a child were injured in a three-vehicle crash in Pearland Friday morning.

It happened in the 3000 block of John Lizer at Pearland Parkway around 7:25 a.m.

Witnesses told Pearland police that a Chevy Trailblazer was traveling eastbound on John Lizer when it ran a red light and struck a white Ford pickup truck, driven by an off-duty HPD officer, that was traveling northbound on Pearland Parkway.

The impact caused the truck to flip, and the Trailblazer spun 180 degrees in the intersection.

A third vehicle, also driven by an off-duty officer, was also hit and sustained minor body damage.

Police said a 2-year-old who was in the Trailblazer was taken to Texas Children’s Hospital with minor injuries.

The HPD officers also suffered minor injuries.
