SAN ANTONIO -- A 35-year-old man has been arrested in connection to a shootout inside a north-side strip club on Thursday morning.

Rudy Cantu was arrested on Thursday and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He was booked into the Bexar County Jail on a $100,000 bond.

Three people were injured in the shooting at Sugar's strip club just before 1 a.m. Thursday, including a dancer who was shot in the rear and a patron who was shot in the arm.

San Antonio police said Cantu was also shot in the buttocks. He fled the club, but showed up shortly after at an area hospital. The hospital staff then called police.

According to his arrest warrant, a witness inside the club saw Cantu shoot at 35-year-old Ruben Martinez, who then returned fire.

Investigators determined that Martinez acted in self defense.
